Dr. Kia Yang,  DTCM, L.Ac

Dr. Kia Yang, DTCM, MATCM, L.Ac, is licensed by the California Acupuncture Board.  She received her Doctorates of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University located in San Jose, CA, and her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University located in Los Angeles, California.

She grew up using and seeing her parent utilize herbal remedies and different Asian modalities (i.e. cupping therapy, hands on body work, gua sha (scraping), and etc) to cure sickness.  To her amazement there were none to minimal side effects and the remedies worked, although not always instantly, but over time it was beneficial and long lasting. She was eager to discover more about the history of Eastern Medicine and its roots.  It was quite a journey for her to get to where she is today.  She went through many career changes, cultural challenges, and obstacle to realize her path of healing.

Dr. Yang, believes that Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is a great preventative medicine in conjunction with western medicine.  Both Eastern and Western medicine work well together and independently, depending on an individuals medical condition.

She has worked with the Venice Family Clinic: Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center in a complementary medical setting working alongside with Medical Doctors, Chiropractors, and Certified Massage Therapist, successfully treating patients for a variety of conditions including chronic to acute pain, insomnia, stress, depression, low energy, addiction, and weight loss. At the Yo San University Community Clinic in West Los Angeles, she treated patients with all types of pain (neck, shoulder, elbow, back, etc), orthopedic issues, infertility, autoimmune diseases, stress, depression, anxiety, women’s/men conditions, cold and flu, diabetes, hypertension and much more.

Her passion and goal in life is to heal and educate individuals and the community about the importance of health and well being. During her free time she enjoys cooking, traveling, and photography.  She encourages everyone that she encounters to take charge of their own body, flourish, and to live a healthy balanced lifestyle; step by step and day by day with an open mind.  Viewing the body holistically and identifying patterns of imbalances is what allows her to create treatment plans to re-balance the body in hopes of making it functional again.  She strives to manage and assist anyone who is ready to make a change and committed to their wellness. As a Licensed Acupuncturist and Asian Medicine Physician, she believes that healing occurs from the inside out.  It all starts with the “self”.
